Some great fun facts for every knitter and crafty person to know about yarn and yarn weights.
Here is a nice website that breaks down the stitch count for gauges, labels on yarn balls, and weight of the yarn.
This link is even useful to the most experienced knitter, and is invaluable for when a yarn change is inevitable.
Wonderful service and great mix of yarns
Eliza’s is an example of a perfect LYS. Cozy, yet full of so many wonderful yarns organized by yarn weight the store layout makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. Great selection of yarn, and always enough for a sweater (unless maybe it’s sock yarn, which we all know doesn’t count as stash). Eliza’s has the best selection of buttons in the area and she also has a lovely selection of books. The best thing about Eliza’s though is the owner – Elizabeth Fallone. Personable and happy to help, she is a delight to talk to. She’s got a ravelry station set up in case you need to check yarn requirements for a pattern.

Super, super helpful service and wonderful shop atmosphere. Elizabeth Fallone, the owner, carries a wide selection of yarns from high end to budget and it’s all a fair price. There is even a ravelry station set up for checking!
There are also BUTTONS! Lots of buttons! Knowlegeable and helpful!

It’s that time of year again, where knitting with wool can be too much. To keep those itchy hands busy we have this beautiful acrylic, Peruvian cotton blend. Try a laidback project with this uncomplicated beautiful yarn. There is a colour pallet here for everyone and every project! Can’t wait to start a summer project out of the Sea Glass.
Recall our day off just after Christmas? Well here is the finished product. This is the oval, oval jacket of the Knit Swirl book. Elizabeth loved working with the Liberty Prints, and paired it with a complimentary Cascade 220 Yarn. This project took 12 balls of the Liberty and only 2 balls of the Cascade. [When talking to Elizabeth about how this project went.]“I absolutely loved working with the Liberty yarn, it has a beautiful hand and drape. The sweater was an easy knit and kept me engaged… …The fit is figure flattering for all types.”
There are new colour ways of the Liberty yarn available!
